FAQs

Shockwave Therapy, or Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT), uses controlled acoustic waves delivered through the skin to a targeted area as part of rehabilitation. It is non-invasive and used alongside exercise and manual therapy.

You may feel a tapping or pulsing sensation, and the area can feel tender while the applicator is working. The intensity is adjusted to stay within what is comfortable for you, and most people tolerate the treatment well.

It is most commonly considered for persistent tendon, fascia, and soft-tissue problems — plantar fasciitis and heel pain, tennis and golfer's elbow, Achilles and patellar tendonitis, shoulder tendon pain, and hip bursitis.

Some soreness or mild redness over the treated area for a day or two is normal. There is no downtime — you can usually return to daily activity straight away, following the guidance your physiotherapist gives you.

A typical course is 3 to 6 sessions, usually spaced about a week apart. Your physiotherapist will share an expected timeline after the first assessment, based on your diagnosis and how long the problem has been present.

Shockwave Therapy is available at both Vyana clinics in Ahmedabad — Navrangpura and South Bopal — Monday to Saturday, 8 AM to 8 PM. Every session starts with a physiotherapist assessment so the treatment is matched to your condition.
